This a shot of the stonework at the Wilson block house, built in 1756 by Hugh Wilson (near his grist mill) in Northampton, PA. In order to provide protection from Indian attacks.
I like the letterbox crop on this one. This would be great with more subtle and warmer lighting, although you have done a good job of controlling the glare in it. Well done.
More great stonework! I am really looking forward to seeing what amazing masonry you have in your area! Thanks for showing the whole building. Amazing what we can learn from others' photos, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful stonework and the lighting is perfect.
ReplyDeleteNice choice of wide crop and the stonework is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe stonework is beautiful. I love the way the stones are so many different shapes, colors and sizes.
ReplyDeleteThe windows add to this, looking a bit like a bunker...great building to record.
ReplyDeleteA very nice shot. I like the light and dark of the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI like all the irregular sizes of the stones. The colours are nice too!
ReplyDeleteLove the first one! The shadow really adds to your crop!
ReplyDeleteOh I like the lighting, with the leaf pattern shadows...and the two windows.

Like how your positioning of the shadow enhances the shape of the building
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful example for your theme. Thanks for giving us a larger version and the whole building too!
